Basketball Game Preview: Centerville Tigers vs. Grapeland Sandies

Centerville hasn't had much luck against Grapeland recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Centerville Tigers will take on the Grapeland Sandies at 3:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Centerville is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Groveton 84-24 on Tuesday. The Tigers pushed the score to 64-18 by the end of the third, a deficit the Indians had no chance of recovering from.

Meanwhile, Grapeland had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They secured a 70-64 W over the Mustangs.

Grapeland has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for Centerville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8.

Centerville came up short against Grapeland in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 67-57. Can Centerville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
