Softball Recap: Morgan Victorious

After losing to Sky View the last time they met, Morgan decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Trojans came out on top against the Bobcats by a score of 5-2 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Callie Averett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lexi Hardman, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. She has been hot for a while, having posted three or more hits the last ten times she's played. Kaiya Peterson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Morgan's victory bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Sky View, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-16.

Looking ahead, Morgan will square off against Union at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Sky View, they will take on Mountain Crest at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
