Gilbert Classical Academy was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Arete Prep on Monday. The Spartans never let the CHARGERS get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

Lennon Mikan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Gilbert Classical Academy is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 5-11-1 otherwise. Mikan was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Hobey Hartman was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since April 3rd. Beckett Elliott was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Gilbert Classical Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-11-1. As for Arete Prep, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-7.

As of now, neither Gilbert Classical Academy nor the CHARGERS have any future games scheduled.
