Basketball Recap: Make It 14 in a Row for Plano

Plano had already won 13 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.5 points) and they went ahead and made it 14 on Saturday. They walked away with a 56-44 victory over the Woodstock Blue Streaks. Given the Reapers' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while the Blue Streaks are ranked 380th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Josie Larson was her usual excellent self, going 6 of 13 on her way to 15 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Rowe, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 boards.

Plano smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 39 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Plano pushed their record up to 22-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for Woodstock, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-13.

Plano will venture away from home to challenge Johnsburg at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Plano is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.7 points per game this season. As for Woodstock, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sandwich at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
