Softball Recap: Mt. Pleasant Find Success

Mt. Pleasant got themselves on the board against Deer Lakes on Wednesday, but Deer Lakes never followed suit. They came out on top against the Lancers by a score of 4-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Gigi Stanek 2025 was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.

In other batting news, Jenna Whipkey 2028 was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Kendra Brunson 2027, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Mt. Pleasant hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Mt. Pleasant now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Deer Lakes, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Mt. Pleasant will face off against rival Southmoreland at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Deer Lakes is set to take on their familiar foe Burrell at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
