Basketball Recap: Hauser Jets vs. North Decatur Chargers
Hauser was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. The matchup between them and the North Decatur Chargers didn't end well, with the Hauser Jets falling 42-27. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 45-23 back in December of 2024.
Hauser's loss came despite strong showings from Braelyn Williams and June Berkenstock. Williams posted 13 points, while Berkenstock earned four points along with six rebounds and three blocks. Thanks to that strong game, Berkenstock now owns an excellent 45% shooting accuracy.
Madi Allen was her usual excellent self, going 7 of 14 en route to 23 points and four steals for North Decatur. The contest was Allen's third in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jo Whitaker, who scored six points and six boards.
Hauser's defeat dropped their record down to 10-13. As for North Decatur, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.
Hauser wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 49-44 loss against Jac-Cen-Del on the 5th. As for North Decatur, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-23 defeat against Shelbyville on the 30th.
