Volleyball Game Preview: Mountain View Bruins vs. Provo Bulldogs

The Mountain View Bruins will square off against the Provo Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain View will be strutting in after a victory while Provo will be coming in after a loss.

Mountain View is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Timpanogos, who was ranked 14th at the time (Mountain View was ranked 25th). Mountain View was the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over Timpanogos on Tuesday. The Bruins not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 8th.

While Mountain View won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 26-24, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Provo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Lehi, falling 3-0.

While Provo ultimately came up short, they really made Lehi work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 26-24, 25-19.

Provo now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Mountain View, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season.

Mountain View beat Provo 3-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will Mountain View repeat their success, or does Provo has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
