Basketball Recap: Jordan Williams' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ord over Central City

Ord lost against Central City back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Ord Chanticleers lost 67-45 to the Central City Bison. The Chanticleers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ord lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jordan Williams, who posted 11 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Thompson, who put up six points along with six boards and three steals.

Truman Ryan continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Central City, going 8 of 13 to rack up 22 points in addition to five assists and three steals. The match was Ryan's third in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Karter Negus, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc on his way to 20 points.

Ord's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Central City, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ord will face off against Broken Bow at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Ord is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.4 points per game this season. As for Central City, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fullerton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
