Softball Game Preview: Pottsboro Cardinals vs. Leonard Tigers

Pottsboro has gone 8-2 against Leonard recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Cardinals are taking a road trip to face off against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses apiece.

Pottsboro managed to slip by Howe the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Cardinals came up short against the Bulldogs on Tuesday, falling 10-0. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Pottsboro saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cheyenne Mitchell, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Tuesday. Leonard fell just short of Blue Ridge by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Leonard has suffered against Blue Ridge since February 17, 2023.

Leonard's defeat dropped their record down to 3-22. As for Pottsboro, their loss dropped their record down to 4-15-1.

Pottsboro suffered a grim 23-15 defeat to Leonard in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Cardinals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
