Recap: Islands Sharks vs. Woodville-Tompkins Wolverines
This season hasn't been kind to the Islands Sharks, who are still winless after their sixth game. They had to suffer through a rough 69-16 loss at the hands of Woodville-Tompkins. Islands was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-9.
Brianna Pelote was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with four steals for Woodville-Tompkins. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Cassidy Freeman, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Islands' defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Woodville-Tompkins, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-7.
Islands' road trip will continue as they head out to face Metter at 4:30 p.m. on December 21st. Woodville-Tompkins won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cedar Grove at 1:00 p.m. on December 16th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Cedar Grove is ranked 317th, while Woodville-Tompkins is ranked 315th).
