Recap: Johnson Warriors vs. Cordova Lancers
If The Johnson Warriors were feeling good off their 47-0 takedown of the Florin Panthers last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Johnson fell 29-22 to Cordova on Friday. Johnson gained 221 more yards on the day, but it was Cordova that made the best of use of them.
Johnson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Kamarea Smith, who threw for 294 yards while picking up 10.9 yards per attempt, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Kirk Brown III, who gained 115 total yards and a touchdown.
Jayden Ryce was his usual excellent self, rushing for 119 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries, while also throwing for 103 yards and a touchdown.
Johnson's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Cordova, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-6 record this season.
Johnson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cordova also has no future games currently scheduled.
