Basketball Recap: Heartland Takes a Loss

Heartland was the 33-23 winner over Christian Learning Center when they last played one another last Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. Heartland took a 30-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of Christian Learning Center on Friday. While losing is never fun, Heartland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 392nd in Missouri, while Christian Learning Center is ranked 151st in Kansas).

Christian Learning Center's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adelyn Paranto, who went 6-for-14 on her way to 16 points. Micah Bean was another key player, putting up two points along with 17 boards and three steals.

Heartland's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Christian Learning Center, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-2.

Heartland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Christian Learning Center, they have already played their next contest, a 50-41 defeat against Clinton Christian Academy on the 15th.
