Baseball Game Preview: Glenbrook Apaches vs. Benton Tigers

Glenbrook hasn't had much luck against Benton recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Glenbrook Apaches will be playing at home against the Benton Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Saturday, Glenbrook earned a 6-2 victory over Calvary Baptist Academy.

Sam Ricord spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on eight hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Easton Sanders was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Dawson Day, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Benton put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They beat Cedar Creek by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 12-2. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by eight runs or more this season.

Benton's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 runs over those games. As for Glenbrook, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4-1.
