Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Deweyville). They snuck past the Community Christian Lions with a 62-56 victory on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Deweyville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kallel Crooks led the charge by going 7 for 16 on his way to 14 points and five steals. Kamen Collins was another key player, putting up 23 points and five steals.

Deweyville was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Community Christian only posted two assists.

Community Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Smith, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 17 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Kratzer, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.

Deweyville's win ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3. As for Community Christian, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Deweyville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 70-21 loss against Starks on the 17th. As for Community Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 82-32 defeat against School of the Woods on the 13th.
