Sumner has gone a perfect 6-0 against Lennard recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Stingrays will head out to take on the Longhorns at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Wednesday, Sumner didn't have quite enough to beat Winthrop College Prep Academy and fell 60-58. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (55), the Stingrays still had to take the loss.

Despite the defeat, Sumner got top-tier performance from Immanuel Kelly, who posted 21 points along with six boards and six steals. Another player making a difference was Bennard Anson, who earned eight points and seven assists.

Meanwhile, Lennard was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 52-47 to Blake. While the Longhorns didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Yellow Jackets 14-9 in the first quarter.

Lennard's loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2. Those road defeats can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points over those games. As for Sumner, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Sumner didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Lennard when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 70-66 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Longhorns' Richard Sykes, who dropped a double-double with 30 points and ten rebounds.
