Basketball Game Preview: Prescott Badgers vs. Mingus Marauders

The Prescott Badgers will face off against the Mingus Marauders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Prescott is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Flagstaff just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 53-40 to the Eagles.

Meanwhile, Mingus waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They claimed a resounding 63-35 victory over the Volunteers. The Marauders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 games by 21 points or more this season.

Mingus' win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-3. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.0 points per game. As for Prescott, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 13-5.

Prescott strolled past Mingus when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a score of 70-55. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Mingus' Makela Martinez, who went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Now that she won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be easier for Prescott to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
