Basketball Recap: Wauneta-Palisade Comes Up Short

Wauneta-Palisade played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 70-23 loss at the hands of the Dundy County-Stratton Tigers. The Broncos were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-12.

Despite the loss, Wauneta-Palisade still got an impressive performance from Ashton Wheeler, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 10 points. That was a full 43.5% of Wauneta-Palisade's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points.

It was another big night for Lane Bybee, who went 7 for 9 on his way to 15 points and seven rebounds for Dundy County-Stratton. The contest was Bybee's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dante Horner, who had 13 points.

Wauneta-Palisade's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Dundy County-Stratton, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

As for Dundy County-Stratton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 66-45 defeat against Perkins County on the 21st.
