New Iberia has no trouble against Alexandria

The New Iberia Yellowjackets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 20 points or more this season. They blew past Alexandria 46-26. The victory was nothing new for New Iberia as they're now sitting on three straight.

Despite the loss, Alexandria still got an impressive performance from Jaylin Johnson, who scored nine points. Jordan Smith was another key contributor, scoring five points along with four steals.

New Iberia's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Alexandria, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Iberia and St. Martinville will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. St. Martinville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while New Iberia is ranked 46th). Alexandria won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Southside at 6:30 p.m. on December 16th.
