Soccer Game Preview: Fairview vs. Beaver

The Fairview Tigers will face off against the Beaver Bobcats at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Fairview is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Quaker Valley a 7-0 shutout. Fairview's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matches.

Meanwhile, Beaver got the win against Somerset on Tuesday by a conclusive 9-1. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Beaver's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 40th, while Somerset are ranked 129th).

Beaver has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 42 goals over those seven contests. As for Fairview, their victory bumped their record up to 21-0.
