Basketball Preview: Odin/Patoka vs. Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats
Odin/Patoka will head out on the road to square off against the Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Odin/Patoka, who comes in off a win.
Odin/Patoka can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They came out on top against Sandoval by a score of 61-49.
Meanwhile, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by Altamont at home and fell 66-39. While losing is never fun, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 596th, while the Indians are ranked 169th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Clayton Wojcik, who scored seven points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Radloff, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Odin/Patoka's win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-14. As for Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-16 record this season.
Odin/Patoka came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bobcats in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, sneaking past 56-54. Will Odin/Patoka repeat their success, or do the Bobcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
