Basketball Game Preview: University Wildcats vs. Animo Venice Pirates

Two dominant guards in Kahmron Hill and Rashad Johnson are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The University Wildcats will welcome the Animo Venice Pirates at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. University is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.1 points per game this season.

University is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Los Angeles CES on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. University was beaten by Los Angeles CES 57-19. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Unicorns: they've now lost seven in a row.

University used a three-pronged attack on offense: Xavier Johnson, Darryl James Jr., and Jonah Hansen posted four points each. Hill held things down on the boards with six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Animo Venice had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 57-38 win over the Warriors.

University's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Animo Venice, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10.
