Millington is 9-1 against Reese since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Cardinals will host the Rockets at 4:00 p.m. Millington is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.

Morgan Matusik spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up nine Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Logan Matusik, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season. Kamyrn Blackmer was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Reese waltzed into their game on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They put the hurt on the Pirates with a sharp 13-3 win. Considering the Rockets have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Ashtyn Frost was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted over her last 14 contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaidyn VanOchten, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Millington is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Reese, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Millington hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318. However, it's not like Reese struggles in that department as they've averaged .319. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Millington beat Reese 7-2 in their previous meeting back in June of 2023. Will the Cardinals repeat their success, or do the Rockets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
