Football Recap: Memphis Central Extends Winning Streak to Four

Memphis Central won the last time they faced Brighton and things went their way on Friday too. The Warriors walked away with a 28-21 win over the Cardinals. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Warriors' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Cardinals are ranked 248th).

Brooks Wright threw for 168 yards and three touchdowns. Andrus Farmer was his top target, picking up 59 receiving yards. On the ground, Kobe Jackson rushed for 65 yards.

The victory keeps Memphis Central at an undefeated 4-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 30.8 points this season. As for Brighton, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, Memphis Central will head out to take on Germantown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Brighton, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Kingsbury at 7:00 p.m. The Cardinals will be up against the Falcons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 36.8 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
