Baseball Recap: Camp Hill Has No Trouble Against Shalom Christian Academy

Camp Hill got themselves on the board against Shalom Christian Academy on Thursday, but Shalom Christian Academy never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Flames. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by six runs or more this season.

Not much got past Ian Jack, who gave up just a hit to keep Shalom Christian Academy off the board.

At the plate, Ty Kirchhoff and Noah Doi did most of the damage at the plate: Kirchhoff went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI, while Doi went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave Kirchhoff a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hayden Ziegler, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Camp Hill's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Shalom Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Camp Hill will welcome Harrisburg at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lions are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Shalom Christian Academy, they are taking a road trip to take on Lancaster County Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
