Soccer Recap: Fruita Monument Takes a Loss

Fruita Monument lost against Steamboat Springs back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Wildcats came up short against the Sailors, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, Fruita Monument can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Steamboat Springs are ranked 31st).

Fruita Monument now has a losing record of 4-5-2. As for Steamboat Springs, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3-1 record this season.

Fruita Monument will be playing in front of their home fans against Grand Junction at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grand Junction's defense has only allowed 0.3 goals per game this season, so Fruita Monument's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Steamboat Springs, they will head out on the road to challenge Basalt at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
