Baseball Recap: Irvine Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Crean Lutheran typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Irvine proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Saints by a score of 6-2. This was payback for the Vaqueros, who suffered a 6-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Smith Spivey was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

With the win, Irvine broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-10. As for Crean Lutheran, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Irvine will challenge Woodbridge at 3:30 p.m. on the 9th. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Vaqueros 3.8, the Warriors 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Crean Lutheran, they will square off against Pacifica at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
