Softball Recap: Sherwood Takes Down Ranked Jesuit

Sherwood faced Jesuit in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Bowmen's pitchers stepped up to hand the Crusaders a 7-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Bowmen, who have now won 19 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Presley Sarono-Ramos was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

In other batting news, Sherwood got a massive performance out of Maisy Schindler, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Schindler a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Henderson, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base.

Sherwood lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Sherwood is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Jesuit, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 25-8.

As of now, neither Sherwood nor the Crusaders have any future games scheduled.
