Baseball Recap: Woodlands Falls to Poughkeepsie in First Game of Season

Woodlands unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Poughkeepsie Pioneers by a score of 10-8 on Thursday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

Poughkeepsie's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6.

Coming up, Poughkeepsie will venture away from home to take on Hamilton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Woodlands will be paying especially close attention to the Pioneers' match: after the Pioneers face off against Yonkers Montessori Academy, they'll take on Woodlands again at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
