Baseball Recap: Davis Darts vs. University Trojans
Davis lost against University back in April of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Davis Darts fell just short of the University Trojans by a score of 5-3.
Carter Knight made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI and a double. The team also got some help courtesy of Wally Grant, who went 2-for-3 with a double.
On University's side, Jameson LoBianco tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.
At the plate, Rivin Ruhunage was incredible, going 2-for-2 with two runs, a triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Austen Barnett, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Davis' defeat dropped their record down to 8-2. As for University, their victory bumped their record up to 8-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Davis will take on Syracuse at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Davis is facing Syracuse at the right time seeing as Syracuse is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for University, their homestand will continue as they prepare to take on Northwood at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. University's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Northwood's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
