Basketball Recap: Pelion Comes Up Short

Pelion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by the Saluda Tigers 63-21. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 258th, while the Tigers are ranked 106th).

Pelion's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Saluda, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 13-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pelion will challenge Strom Thurmond at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Saluda, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Saluda Tigers face off against the Ninety Six Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ninety Six is on a three-game streak of home wins, Saluda a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
