Basketball Recap: Summit Atlas Comes Up Short

After soaring to 62 points the game before, Summit Atlas was a bit more limited in their match on Wednesday. They were beaten by the Evergreen Lutheran Eagles 66-23. While losing is never fun, the Orcas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 237th, while the Eagles are ranked 93rd).

This is the second loss in a row for Summit Atlas and nudges their season record down to 2-5. As for Evergreen Lutheran, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Summit Atlas will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Summit Sierra at 6:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025. Summit Atlas is facing Summit Sierra at the right time seeing as Summit Sierra is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Evergreen Lutheran will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Cedar Park Christian at 3:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
