Mathis waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Aransas Pass Panthers as they made off with a 17-2 victory. The Pirates have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Alyssa Herrera made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-6 with one stolen base and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.
