Baseball Recap: Winfield Comes Up Short

Winfield fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Holt on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Indians by a score of 7-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 5-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Daniel Warren was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. He also put up a run, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Timothy Emmons, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Winfield's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Holt, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-14 record.

While Winfield had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
