Baseball Game Preview: Cuero Gobblers vs. Floresville Tigers/Jaguars

The Cuero Gobblers will face off against the Floresville Tigers/Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Cuero 3.9, Floresville 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Saturday, Cuero was able to grind out a solid win over Taft, taking the game 7-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Gobblers.

Floresville's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Pleasanton on Friday. The Tigers/Jaguars had just enough and edged out Devine 2-1. The Tigers/Jaguars haven't had any issues with the Warhorses recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Austin Beyer, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Cuero's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-10. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Floresville, their win bumped their record up to 18-10.
