Basketball Recap: Northern Highlands Highlanders vs. Ramapo Raiders

It was a good run, but the Northern Highlands Highlanders unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were the victim of a tough 64-44 loss at the hands of Ramapo. Northern Highlands was down 46-25 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite the loss, Northern Highlands still got an impressive performance from Freddie Kanning, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeffrey Weinberger, who scored seven points.

Peyton Seals was his usual excellent self, scoring 28 points for Ramapo. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Seals has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Chris Cervino, who scored 15 points.

Northern Highlands' loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-5. As for Ramapo, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northern Highlands will take on the Maroons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ridgewood has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 321 points over their last five matchups. As for Ramapo, they will be playing at home against the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Paramus is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
