After losing to Livingston the last time they met, Ceres decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Bulldogs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Wolves on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted against the Wolves since April 11, 2017.

Vincent Castrejon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Ceres' victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Mario Vargas, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Another was Daniel Davis, who went 1-for-2 with three runs.

Ceres has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Livingston, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-17 record this season.

Ceres will head out to face off against West Park at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulldogs 3.2, the Panthers 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Livingston does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
