Softball Game Preview: Wayne County War Eagles vs. D'Iberville Warriors

The Wayne County War Eagles will face off against the D'Iberville Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Wayne County's offense. They fell 3-0 to West Marion on Saturday. The match marked the first time this season in which the War Eagles were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, D'Iberville didn't have quite enough to beat West Marion on Saturday and fell 4-3. The loss was the Warriors' first of the season.

Emma Franklin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, Annah Niceley made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Having lost for the first time this season, D'Iberville fell to 2-1. As for Wayne County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
