Washington put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the South Knox Spartans. That's more bragging rights for the Hatchets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Washington took South Knox into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 26-24, 16-25, 25-16, 15-10.

Washington can attribute much of their success to Kennedy Barnard, who had 17 digs. Those 17 digs gave Barnard a new career-high. Jaea Cooper also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Despite the loss, South Knox saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Braelyn Gladish had 25 digs and three assists. Gladish is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 14 every time she's taken the court this season.

Washington's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for South Knox, they dropped their record down to 1-3 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Washington wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Princeton on the 28th. As for South Knox, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Wood Memorial on the 26th.
