Recap: NSU University Sharks vs. Westminster Academy Lions
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The NSU University Sharks, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. Their tough 41-20 defeat to Westminster Academy on Thursday might stick with them for a while. NSU University's defeat signaled the end of their 11-game winning streak dating back to last season.
NSU University's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jacques Dixson, who rushed for 98 yards and a touchdown. Jett Yurgealitis was another key contributor, throwing for 265 yards and two touchdowns.
Westminster Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Anthony Barbar, who threw for 181 yards and four touchdowns on only ten passes, and also punched in a rushing score. The team also got some help courtesy of Dwayne Wimbley Jr., who picked up 124 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
NSU University's defeat dropped their record down to 9-1. As for Westminster Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.
NSU University does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Westminster Academy will take on Master's Academy at 7:00 p.m. on November 11th.
