Recap: Greater Vision Academy Lions vs. Calvary Day School Cougars
The Greater Vision Academy Lions struggled with offensive rebounds on Tuesday (the Calvary Day School Cougars had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Greater Vision Academy was outmatched by Calvary Day School on the road and fell 88-42. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Greater Vision Academy has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Greater Vision Academy still got an impressive performance from Josiah Love, who scored 12 points. The match was Love's tenth in a row with at least ten points.
It was another big night for Owen Calvert, who scored 26 points for Calvary Day School. That makes it five consecutive games in which Calvert has scored at least 25% of Calvary Day School's points. Asher Tolbert was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Greater Vision Academy and nudges their season record down to 6-4. As for Calvary Day School, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-7.
Greater Vision Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Clover Garden School at 3:30 p.m. on December 21, 2023. Clover Garden School will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 627th, while Greater Vision Academy is ranked 271st). Calvary Day School and Walnut Hills will round out the year against one another at 4:30 p.m. on December 28, 2023 at. Hopefully Walnut Hills focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Friday.
