Basketball Game Preview: Eastern Wayne Warriors vs. West Craven Eagles

The Eastern Wayne Warriors will challenge the West Craven Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Eastern Wayne has given up an average of 61.9 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Eastern Wayne came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were beaten by Washington 81-48. The matchup marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Levi Evans put forth a good effort for the losing side as he shot 55% from the field on his way to 14 points and seven rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Izeiah Oates, who posted 12 points.

Meanwhile, West Craven had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They slipped by East Carteret 59-58 on Wednesday.

West Craven's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Eastern Wayne, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-7 record.

Eastern Wayne got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in January of 2025 against West Craven by a conclusive 68-48 score. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
