Baseball Recap: Green Forest Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Green Forest had to endure a 13-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Lincoln Wolves a 12-0 shutout on Friday. That 12 run margin sets a new team best for the Tigers this season.

Mason Meador made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 15 over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Green Forest is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-15 otherwise. Meador was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Ryne Stone was a standout: he scored two runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Radon Lawrence, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4.

Green Forest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Green Forest's win bumped their record up to 3-16. As for Lincoln, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.
