Soccer Game Preview: Highland vs. Palmdale

The Highland Bulldogs will head out to square off against the Palmdale Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Highland is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

On Monday, Highland was able to grind out a solid win over Lancaster, taking the game 4-2. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 469th, while the Eagles are ranked 960th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Palmdale, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They won by a goal and slipped past Eastside 3-2.

Palmdale pushed their record up to 10-4-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those four matches. As for Highland, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-6-1 record this season.

Highland came up short against Palmdale when the teams last played back in January, falling 3-1. Can Highland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
