Basketball Recap: Aurora West College Prep Academy Takes a Loss

Aurora West College Prep Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-47 heartbreaker at the hands of the STEM School Highlands Ranch Spartans. If Aurora West College Prep Academy was looking for revenge after losing 55-37 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

STEM School Highlands Ranch's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dylan Figueroa, who posted 12 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Braden Calme, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards.

Aurora West College Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for STEM School Highlands Ranch, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-4.

Aurora West College Prep Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 72-44 defeat against Lotus School For Excellence on the 31st. As for STEM School Highlands Ranch, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 76-27 loss against The Pinnacle on the 1st.
