Basketball Recap: John Curtis Christian Comes Up Short

John Curtis Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 42-36 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fort Bend Elkins Knights. The matchup marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Leading Fort Bend Elkins to victory were Joshua Lord and Caleb Rudd. Lord dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds, while Rudd went 6 of 14 on his way to 15 points. Those 13 boards gave Lord a new career-high.

John Curtis Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Fort Bend Elkins, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-11.

John Curtis Christian will look to defend their home court on Friday against Lafayette Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. As for Fort Bend Elkins, they will challenge Cypress Falls at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
