Volleyball Recap: Lometa Comes Up Short at Home Against Florence

Lometa unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Florence Buffaloes on Saturday, falling 3-0. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 17 in a row.

While Lometa was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Florence's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-14, 25-15.

Florence's victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Lometa will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Jonesboro at 4:30 p.m. on October 7. As for Florence, they will venture away from home to square off against Killeen at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
