Softball Game Preview: Enterprise Hornets vs. Shasta Wolves

After both having extra time off, the Enterprise Hornets and the Shasta Wolves will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Enterprise hasn't scored more than two runs for four games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Enterprise fell victim to Chico and their airtight pitching crew last Friday. They lost 13-0 to the Panthers.

Meanwhile, Shasta can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game last Friday. They blew past Red Bluff 12-2. The high-scoring effort was just what the Wolves needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Anna Pe?a was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Sheala Buelna, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Shasta's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-10. As for Enterprise, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.

Enterprise beat Shasta 7-2 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
