Softball Recap: Chapman Panthers vs. Broome Centurions
Chapman lost against Broome on April 4th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Panthers fell just short of the Centurions by a score of 4-3. Panthers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Centurions since on Monday.
Alexis Floyd spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on 12 hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Rylan Ivey was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Chapman has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Broome, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-18.
