Baseball Recap: Jordan Picks Up Seventh Straight Win at Home

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Jordan ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past the Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders 8-7. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Crusaders recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Peyton Jones was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three).

Jordan pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Cardinal Gibbons, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jordan will venture away from home to challenge Southern Alamance at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Southern Alamance's pitching crew has only allowed 1.2 runs per game this season, so Jordan's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Cardinal Gibbons, they will head out on the road to face off against Charlotte Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
