Volleyball Recap: Lackawanna Trail Comes Up Short

If Lackawanna Trail was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Mountain View on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lions took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hazleton Area Cougars on Saturday. The Lions were not able to make up for their loss to the Cougars from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Wyatt Laytos paced Lackawanna Trail's offense, picking up six kills. Laytos got some help from Rylee Laubach and his 13 assists.

Lackawanna Trail's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Hazleton Area, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Lackawanna Trail has already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Western Wayne on the 12th. As for Hazleton Area, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Wilkes-Barre on the 12th.
